This Girl in an Orange Suit Took To The Stage

Wow this pic shows how fun my Friday night was with Stars of Newcastle Cancer Council NSW dancing on stage at Civic Theatre

✨I was actually really nervous before I stepped out on stage.. I had to take quite a few deep breaths while I was waiting in the wings …then the music started and it really was all a blur from when I took my first steps out under the spotlight.. other than remembering people clapping along to my ABBA songs…. Which was surreal!!… if my 7 year old self knew while dancing to ABBA in her friend’s bedroom that at 53 I would be dancing on the Civic Theatre Stage to my favourite ABBA songs … wow she would never have believed it!!

✨Another pinch me moment was walking out of stage door and people coming up to me telling me they loved my dance and gave me hugs!! As those who know me know, I am a theatre tragic and normally I am the one waiting outside the stage door waiting to congratulate people but this time it was people thanking me!!

✨Congrats to all the Stars we all had so much fun (and a bit of stress thrown in🤣) , Congrats to Declan Edwards for winning the disco ball and to Dani and Ali from Cancer Council NSW for giving us encouragement every week

✨Thanks to Jess from Belmont Dance Centre who worked hard every week to get me back into dancing shape

✨and a huge Thankyou to everyone who donated or came to one of my events… I am so thrilled to have raised just over $9,000 for Cancer Council NSW … knowing this money will help someone with Cancer means so much … and maybe the joy of ABBA… can help make their day 🧡
