To build single or double storey?

Sometimes it all depends on your lifestyle and stage in life on whether it is best to build a single or double storey home. Obviously if you have a large family, or teenagers who want to be away from everyone, a 2 storey may be best. A 2 storey also helps if you have a small block of land, it helps with the footprint, allowing for a bit of a yard on a tiny parcel.

If your knees 🤣 are a bit past it, stairs are not great, so a single level may be best...especially if you are downsizing.

You can create a wonderful living area that wraps around an outdoor oasis with a pool and firepit for a single level as well.

Double Storey designs are a bit more expensive , due to trades charging “double handling” , as well as scaffolding and Basix requirements.

But whatever your preference, it does all come back to Budget…and what you can afford in Mortgage Repayments.
